WHO’S OUR CLIENT?
One client was a partnership between local government and an internationally recognized NGO that resettles refugees, assisting them with rebuilding their lives in their new communities.
The Problem:
REFUGEES WERE IN NEED OF THE TOOLS AND SKILLS TO OVERCOME OBSTACLES AS THEY BEGAN TO TRANSITION AND BUILD NEW LIVES IN THEIR NEW COMMUNITIES.
WHAT YOU WANT TO KNOW:
The NGO and local government, tasked with resettling refugees into new communities, understood refugees were experiencing major hardship during their time of crucial transition. These individuals were experiencing challenges finding employment, connecting with their community, and acclimating to their new environment. Because of these adversities, refugees continued to feel disempowered, leaving them unable to gain the momentum needed to thrive.

Materialize
After creating the curriculum and workshops, we utilized pilot testing with individuals to determine the effectiveness of the final curriculum. Ultimately, we presented a series of learning materials that taught refugees professional presentation skills.
The Outcome
THE SPILL TEEM'S WORK of CRAFTING And facilitating a CURRICULUM OF EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS contributed to THE PROGRAM TaKing OFF! STARTING FROM A PILOT THAT RAN ONLY a small number of PEOPLE, THE CURRICULUM SUPPORTED THE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF SEven times the initial amount of people FOR THE FOLLOWING GRADUATION POOL!
BY THE END OF THE FIRST SERIES OF WORKSHOPS, 80% OF PEOPLE FROM THE FIRST GRADUATION POOL FOUND EMPLOYMENT, WORKING IN FIELDS EMPLOYED BY LOCAL GOVERNMENT SUCH AS UTILITIES AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION.
The Impacts
A ENTIRE HUMAN-CENTERED CURRICULUM OF WORKSHOPS AND EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS WERE DESIGNED, DEVELOPED AND DELIVERED! After a series of Spill teem-facilitated workshops, THE INDIVIDUALS THAT GRADUATED THE PROGRAM FOUND EMPLOYMENT AND DEVELOPED A DEEPER SENSE OF COMMUNITY THAT WAS BUILT ON THE JOURNEY THEY JUST EMBARKED ON. WITH SUSTAINABLE KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCES AND ACTIONABLE TECHNIQUES THEY'RE EQUIPPED TO MANAGE THE TRAJECTORY OF THEIR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL LIVES.
